Vacancy: BMF Technical Executive

The British Marine Federation are seeking a Technical Executive to work within the BMF team to provide expertise, guidance and effective lobbying on technical and environmental issues to support the UK Leisure, Superyacht and Small Commercial Marine Industry. The successful candidate will report to the Technical Director and require a broad technical knowledge of the industry and legislative framework, notably the Recreational Craft Directive, ISO Standards and MCA Codes.

To fulfil the key aspects of the role, you will require a degree in a technical or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. Membership of a professional institution such as RINA, IMarEST etc. would be considered an advantage.

The position will involve direct contact with member companies, Government Agencies, national committees and International Working Groups, so a confident communicator with good presentational and negotiating skills is required. In addition the position will require the drafting of articles to the Technical Report, updates to the Website and running training courses as required.

A degree of travel within the EU should be expected.
