Scanstrut launches range of pole mounts to suit every boat

1 April 2010

Scanstrut Ltd. has developed its popular SC100 Pole Mount range to include a choice of new materials.  The SC100 now comes in three options – black carbon, which is extremely strong and lightweight; stainless steel, which aesthetically suits the majority of cruisers; and white-coated aluminium.

The SC100 has proved an extremely popular and easy way for boat owners to mount a radome or satcom antenna on board.  The unique adjustable base is designed to be easily fitted on deck, and its design means it can be installed even in the most difficult of locations, including angled or steeply sloped transoms, or narrow swim steps.  The kit also comes with two support modules to ensure maximum bracing from forces fore and aft, and sideways.  The design enables cables to internally routed.

The new range of materials, explains Scanstrut, allows boaters to choose the best option for their needs and to suit the look of the boat.  The carbon pole, for example, has been designed with racing boats in mind – low weight, high strength, and a black finish matching top quality racing gear on board.  The highly durable stainless steel option offers a more stylish look, to match stanchions and deck fittings; while the traditional white is often chosen to match the boat deck colour and antennae.

The SC100 comes in a choice of two heights – 1.9m or 2.5m – allowing users to select the best height option for deck or transom mounting.  The pole mount is also designed to be easily removed by simply unbolting the top of the base to remove the pole for racing or winter storage, leaving the low profile base permanently installed.  Prices start from £1,150 for the SC100 in stainless steel and  £1,400 for the carbon option.
