The British Marine Electronics Association (BMEA), the trade organisation that represents installers and manufacturers of electrical and electronic marine equipment has developed a new website. http://www.bmea.org allows both consumers and members to see a multitude of information and news regarding marine electronics and the association.

Customers and members of the British Marine Electronic Association (BMEA) can now keep up to date with the associations activities on three of the most popular social networking sites, Twitter, Linkedin and now Facebook! News stories from the Associations members, industry developments as well as development from the BMEA itself will be posted on all three sites.

BMEA Direct, the on-line journal of the British Marine Electronics Association, is looking for contributors from its membership for the next twelve months. The journal, published quarterly is circulated to all members of the BMEA, including dealers, retailers, manufacturers, distributors and others involved in the design, manufacturing, sales, installation and service of high quality marine electronics for recreational boating and the commercial maritime marketplace.

Maybe it is the sign of the times, but I recently had a phone call from a company saying that they were working on behalf of the British Marine Electronic Association. This was strange, because I look after the marketing of this association and had no knowledge of this company. It really annoyed me that they could be possibly using our brand and reputation to try and get foot in the door of companies within the marine industry.

Mastervolt, the leading Dutch-based electrical specialist, has promoted former Marketing Manager Marc Persoon to the post of Global Power Conversion Product Manager for the Marine and Mobile Group. Also promoted to fill his previous role, is former Brand Manager Laura Willems, who now takes on the new position of Marketing Manager.

Icom UK’s Marketing Manager, Ian Lockyer is undertaking 3 gruelling athletic challenges in aid of 3 charities this year. Ian will be attempting to complete the London Marathon (22/04/12), 24 Hour Challenge (19/05/12-20/05/12) and the London Triathlon (22/09/12) in aid of ‘Children with Cancer’, ‘RNLI’ and the Kent Association for the Blind.

Raymarine will show its new range of navigation equipment at the Barclays Wealth Jersey Boat Show, over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
