There is an excellent opportunity for our “waterside dealers” to meet the requirement of the BMEA Constitution Bye-laws that all such members must have at least one engineer at all their premises, either certificated to the BMET (British Marine Electrical Engineer) or MEI (Marine Electronics Installer).

Maybe it is the sign of the times, but I recently had a phone call from a company saying that they were working on behalf of the British Marine Electronic Association. This was strange, because I look after the marketing of this association and had no knowledge of this company. It really annoyed me that they could be possibly using our brand and reputation to try and get foot in the door of companies within the marine industry.
