BMEA

The BMEA website is going to be upgraded between 16th and 18th December 2011. The switchover from the old site to new site should be relatively seamless, but if you do experience any problems please bear with us.

The British Marine Federation (BMF) offers members the opportunity to advertise their job vacancies for no charge on the BMF website. The vacancy search page is visited by marine professionals and those with skills and interest in working in the marine industry.

There is an excellent opportunity for our “waterside dealers” to meet the requirement of the BMEA Constitution Bye-laws that all such members must have at least one engineer at all their premises, either certificated to the BMET (British Marine Electrical Engineer) or MEI (Marine Electronics Installer).

The HS70 is designed to deliver a quick time-to-first-fix and also excellent in-band and out-of-band interference rejection. It features two multipath-resistant antennas and offers 0.75 degree heading accuracy and a 1.0 m differential positioning accuracy 95% of the time. As the Simrad HS70 has no black box, it is maintenance free and extremely portable. Additionally, its compact size – with an all in one antenna measuring only 40cm/16-inches – allows it to be easily mounted to any flat surface or pole.

Maybe it is the sign of the times, but I recently had a phone call from a company saying that they were working on behalf of the British Marine Electronic Association. This was strange, because I look after the marketing of this association and had no knowledge of this company. It really annoyed me that they could be possibly using our brand and reputation to try and get foot in the door of companies within the marine industry.
