The Differences Between Pulse and FMCW Radars

Until recently the only radars available to the leisure mariner were “Pulse Radars”. One group of
companies, owned by Navico, have now launched a radar that they call “Broadband” but which engineers and scientists would refer to as “Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave” (FMCW), which is not quite as snappy on a sales leaflet!
