Raymarine previews new generation of multi-function displays and digital radomes at London Boat Show
Raymarine has previewed its new C Series Widescreen displays at the Excel London Boat Show, attracting a massive amount of interest from press and visitors alike. Andy Davies, Raymarine’s UK Sales Manager says, “This is the very first time the new C Series Widescreen has been on show, and it really has been creating a stir. The feedback is that it offers everything boat owners are looking for.” Available in three sizes – C90W with 9 inch, 800 x 480 pixel screen; C120W with 12 inch 1280 x 800 pixel screen; and C140W with 14 inch 1280 x 800 pixel screen display, the new C Series not only looks different but also boasts a host of new features including internal high sensitivity GPS sensor, dual display networking capability, autopilot control function via the chartplotter interface, embedded ready-to-navigate cartography and a new intuitive UniControl™ pad, making menu navigation and function operation exceptionally easy.
The new C Series Widescreen gives over 25% extra viewing area compared to conventionally proportioned screens, whilst the optically bonded LCD technology dramatically improves contrast and eliminates condensation to ensure viewing from any angle, even in brilliant sunlight thanks to its integrated anti-glare filters.
Whether looking at a single full screen of data, or multiple widescreen combinations of chart, radar, fishfinder and video, the C series has it all.
Dual display SeaTalkhs networking capability and fast interfacing with SeaTalk instruments gives instant access to information. C Series Widescreen also takes full advantage of the Raymarine suite of digital network sensors, including: HD, Super HD and digital radar capability, DSC radio, composite video input, HD Digital fishfinder, NAVTEX and AIS, plus autopilots and safety products such as LifeTag. The NMEA 2000 interface allows the display of virtual instrument data from electronic engine instruments to trim tab systems.
Complete with both ready-to-navigate cartography and a fully integrated high-sensitivity GPS antenna, C Series Widescreen is ready for use straight out of the box. With a faster processor and graphics coprocessor, C Series Widescreen is ideal for viewing 3D cartography and satellite photo maps available on Navionics Gold, Gold Plus and Platinum charts – users simply insert their optional chart cards into the Compact Flash slot conveniently located on the front of the display.
The new C Series Widescreen uses the new 4kW 18” and 24” digital radomes and is also compatible with Raymarine’s Super HD and HD Digital open arrays. Packed with power, Raymarine’s latest digital radar offerings deliver high-clarity targets and virtually eliminate noise and clutter from the image. HD Digital technology also offers the Dual Range function, which provides a view of both long and short range scales in two radar windows on one screen. Users can also overlay chart data with the radar images showing, for example, tide graphics with AIS information on view as well.
Using SeaTalkng the C Series Widescreen takes the user way beyond normal chartplotter-autopilot communication. The new multifunction displays can be used to control the new SPX autopilots via the autopilot function on the chartplotter interface – an autopilot dialogue enables the skipper to engage and disengage the autopilot directly from the C Series display.
The C Series Widescreen can be used as a single unit – with all its multifunction capacity – or users can plug two C Series Widescreen displays together to create a dual display network. Alternatively, there is a SeaTalkhs eight port network which can be added to the system enabling easy installation of all SeaTalkhs sensors.
New C Series Widescreen will be available this Spring – C90 Widescreen £1595 ex VAT, C120 Widescreen £2195 ex VAT, C140 Widescreen £2995 ex VAT.
